Domes De Miage (3673m) Traverse

Les Domes de Miage, Seen From the Arve Valley

The classic traverse from the Conscrits Hut ascends the glacier Tre-la-Tete and arrives at the central snowy col - with the return, westward leg leading rightwards back along the crest & down to the hut. The journey from Conscrits to Durier traverses the skyline from right to left.

Impressive New Suspension Bridge En Route to the Refuge Conscrits

This new bridge & path means the glacier Tre-la-Tete is avoided on the hut approach. The new path is still long (C. 5 hours from the valley) and has some short fixed rope & exposed sections.

The Nepali Theme Continues At the Attractive Conscrits Hut

It's a long way but it's worth the walk. The Refuge Conscrits has great views of the Tre-la-Tete glacial basin and is a pleasant & hospitable hut with a few climbing options from here as Base Camp.

Good conditions in August 2014 on the glacier but there are still big crevasses here. Mont Tondu can be seen at the lower end of the Glacier.
