Lauteraarhorn 4042m

The Lauteraarhorn West Face Right Of The Schreckhorn In The Centre

The Lauteraarhorn is often referred to as the most remote of all the 4000m peaks as it requires a 20km walk to the bivi hut, 'Aarbiwak' which provides access to The South Gully / SE Ridge. The traverse ridge connecting to the Schreckhorn also provides an option for the ascent of the Lauteraarhorn with descent either down to the bivi hut or via the Strahleggpass, 3332m (centre right of pic). Either way, a long day!
