What initially started as a hobby for Chris, climbing and camping with family, soon led to employment and the pathway to becoming a fully qualified IFMGA Guide. Now based in the beautiful English Lake District, he spends some time each summer and each winter guiding in the European Alps.
He has a holistic approach to the mountains believing that “if you need to take time out to explore your physical and mental boundaries, to reconnect with what is important, to be encouraged and refreshed, then a trip to the mountains could be just what you need.”
When he’s not working in the mountains you’ll find Chris spending time with his family, or out on the Lakeland crags.
Rami & Jeorg, Snowdonia Matterhorn Training Weekend, October 2018
Terrific weekend out, our guide tailored the entire course to our skill level, taught us a great deal, and pushed us right to our limits the whole time. Could not have been more fun.
Tobias & Mattias, Scottish Highlands Matterhorn Training Weekend, February 2017
Thank you very much to you and the guides for this fantastic, amazing, instructive weekend experience! The guides were great! The weather was like promised and as you wrote and can see, we all had a lot of fun as well. Would be Great to have the Session in April with them as well. Thank you Tamsin, Chris and Culum!
Robert Wine, Ski Mountaineering Training & Haute Route Preparation, April 2015
Again, it wouldn’t have been the same without Alison’s and Chris‘s outstanding prep a couple of weeks earlier. I hope Alison would have been proud of at least a few of my turns on rubbish snow at various times; I was terrified of letting her tuition down!
