Steve is an experienced and talented British Mountain Guide based in Chamonix in the French Alps. He has been guiding and instructing for over 20 years. Starting out in Sheffield and the Peak district he moved to Snowdonia where he worked for 10 years as a senior instructor at Plas y Brenin, the UK National Mountain Centre.
Steve’s love of the mountains has taken him all around the world & the past few years in Chamonix have opened up new opportunities with easy access to Italy and Switzerland. Winter activities include off-piste skiing, ski-touring & ice-climbing. Summer activities include trekking and climbing & he has guided all but a handful of the 4000m Alpine peaks and recently became the first Brit to summit all 82 4000m summits and tops on that UIAA list. A great achievement and offering bags of experience in which to train and guide guests.
Steve also helps run the British Mountain Guides training and assessment courses and brings this wealth of experience for the benefit of future guides as well as many guests who have enjoyed his company in the hills over the last couple of decades.
